Kwadwo Asare

Kwadwo Asare completed his Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, and was retained by the university to work as a teaching assistant for one academic year.

Following this, Dr Asare pursued both a Master's and PhD programme in Materials Science and Engineering at the Wuhan University of Technology, China. His Ph.D. research focused on supercapacitors - energy storage devices with fast charge and discharge times and a longer lifespan than lithium-ion batteries.

Within the ADMIRE Programme, Dr Asare is working with Professor Kevin Ryan at the University of Limerick on a project that looks high capacity, low voltage copper silicide-stabilised alloying-type anodes for potassium ion batteries.
