Amit Khare completed his BSc (with a specialisation in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) at the Dr Hari Singh Gaur University in Sagar, India, before completing both an MSc (Sagar, India) and an MPhil (Bhopal, India) in Physics. In 2011, he completed his PhD in Physics as part of a joint collaboration between Barkatullah University (Bhopal, India) and UGC DAE Consortium for Scientific Research (Indore, India). His studies looked at the structural, transport and magnetic properties of magnetic oxide compounds.
Following his PhD, Dr Khare undertook a number of post-doctoral research positions in India (Indian Institute of Science Education and Research), Italy (Institute for Superconductors and Innovative Materials and Devices of the National Research Council) and South Korea (Sungkyunkwan University).
Within the ADMIRE Programme, Dr Khare worked with Professor Igor Shvets at the TCD School of Chemistry on a project to get a deeper insight into the underlying concepts and mechanisms that control the carrier mobility in gallium-oxide thin films, with the broader goal of tailoring new material functionalities.
